River Lions Sign Guard Nate Frye

St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions are happy to announce the signing of guard Nate Frye.

Frye, 6-feet, 215 pounds, appeared in 24 games for the University of New Orleans during the 2016-17 season, averaging 10.6 points in 25.1 minutes per game.

Hailing from Louisiana, Frye will join the River Lions in his first professional basketball season and will kick off the season under new Head Coach Joe Raso.

“Nathan is a powerful combo guard on both sides of basketball. Nathan combines his physical play with quickness and aptitude. His play, personality and character is solid. I’m very excited to watch him compete,” said Raso on the signing.

Throughout his collegiate career, Frye appeared in 133 games for the University of New Orleans from 2013-17.

“I want to thank God and the River Lions for providing me with the opportunity to play for such a great organization,” continued Frye, “A lot of hard work is being put into preparing for this season and we’re ready to make history and bring a championship back to Niagara!”

The River Lions are set to tip-off the season when they return to the Meridian Centre on November 18th versus the London Lightning. Single game tickets go on sale October 11th. For more information contact the Front Office at 289-273-5905.
