River Lions Add Sam Muldrow

The Niagara River Lions are thrilled to announce their newest signee – Sam Muldrow. The former South Carolina power forward is the latest addition to the lineup for the inaugural River Lions.
The 6-foot-9 Muldrow is a graduate from South Carolina, where he played collegiately for four years. Twice in his career, Muldrow was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team (2010 and 2011), and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.
In 2010-2011, as a senior, Muldrow acted as a starter for all 30 games. During this season, he became the all-time leader in South Carolina history in terms of blocked shots, with 275 in his career. He averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 3.4 blocks, and 0.6 steals in 28.9 minutes per game. Additionally, he posted 20 double-figure scoring games, include five 20-point performances; he tallied seven double-figure rebounding games, with 19 games with at least three blocks and nine games with at least five blocks. He was also second on the team with a 72.0 (59-82) free throw percentage. Finally, he led his team with seven double-doubles on the year and had one triple-double.
Following his time at South Carolina, Muldrow played the 2011-2012 season with Aris Thessaloniki of Greece. In August of 2012, he signed with Dnipro-Azot of Ukraine to play with them for the 2012-2013 season. In March of 2013, he split with Dnipro-Azot and signed with BC Pieno Žvaigždės of Lithuania, where he spent the rest of the 2012-2013 season. He then returned to Dnipro-Azot for the entirety of the 2013-2014 season.
