The Niagara River Lions are proud to announce a new corporate partnership with Book Outlet for the 2016-2017 NBL Canada season. Through this partnership, Book Outlet has become the official and leading Literacy Partner of the Niagara River Lions. Both parties are excited to be uniting for the first time and are looking to make a defining impact in the community.
Book Outlet, Canada’s best seller of bargain books, has been a landmark establishment in the Niagara Region for almost two decades since relocating to St. Catharines in 1996. The family-owned business has undergone several essential changes since moving to the area, aiming to provide families and individuals with new, affordable literature.
With this partnership, the Book Outlet and the Niagara River Lions will continue the tradition of school day visits throughout the season as players deliver influential messages to youth across the Region. Presentations will incorporate themes such as healthy and active living, goal setting, community involvement, leadership, and the importance of education.
“Book Outlet is proud to be a partner with the Niagara River Lions basketball organization,” said Book Outlet Marketing Manager Ian Michael. “We love being able to offer great books at low prices, and together with the River Lions, we want to promote reading at any age—it’s an important part of a healthy lifestyle! We are enthusiastic about this partnership and hope that with it, we can do a lot of good for the community.”
Moving forward, Book Outlet and the River Lions plan to establish multiple initiatives that will be used to promote fan engagement surrounding school related events and create a unique home game experience.
“We’re pleased to be working with such an organization as important to our community as Book Outlet, and we’re excited to see where our collaborative efforts go from here,” said Josh Knoester, Manager of Sales & Corporate Partnerships for the Niagara River Lions. “Book Outlet is a wonderful establishment in St. Catharines and in this upcoming season we’ll be looking to showcase their unique strengths in multiple ways at the Meridian Centre.”
Following this announcement, the Niagara River Lions front office staff will continue to make significant progress in preparation for December’s home opener. This allows ample time for the organization to focus on adjustments required to deliver a premiere product both on and off the court.
