River Lions Partner With Boys & Girls Club of Niagara

Released: November 21, 2016

The Niagara River Lions are thrilled to announce the Boys & Girls Club of Niagara (BGCN) as their latest Partner for the upcoming 2016-17 National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) season.

This partnership began during last year’s inaugural season, when the Niagara River Lions held training camp at the 5-year-old Niagara Falls facility. The team continued to practice at the BGCN throughout the season and are very happy to be back.

With over 700 locations throughout Canada, Boys and Girls Clubs look to overcome barriers, provide youth with new opportunities, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. The Niagara River Lions will strive to build upon these goals, while further strengthening their community involvement by working with the various Kid Zone and Teen Zone programs offered throughout the region.

Kevin Kopinak, Facilities Manager stated, “The Boys & Girls Club of Niagara is proud to be the official practice facility of the Niagara River Lions once again. As sports and skill development are a big part of what we do at BGCN, we value our connection to the professional basketball talent here in Niagara.”

The announcement of this partnership comes as the River Lions get set to start training camp at the beginning of December. The River Lions will look to use the Club in its full capacity by not only utilizing the gym, but the pool and meeting rooms as well.

Corporate Partnership & Sales Manager, Josh Knoester said, “We are very pleased to be back practicing at the Boys & Girls Club of Niagara! This is a state-of-the-art facility, and the good people managing it really helps to contribute to our mission of winning the National Basketball League of Canada championship.”

Look for single game tickets to come on sale shortly as the Niagara River Lions get set for their Home Opener on December the 27th against the newly formed Kitchener-Waterloo Titans at the Meridian Centre.
