River Lions sign Canadians Joe Rocca and Ajahmo Clarke. Place Stutz, Zeglinski and Mason on Injured Reserve.

St. Catharines, ON -The Niagara River Lions announced today that they signed guards Joe Rocca and Ajahmo Clarke to their roster and have placed guards Sammy Zeglinski and Elliot Mason as well as forward Logan Stutz on injured reserve (IR). A third player is set to be announced shortly.


Rocca played 4 seasons with McMaster University before transferring to Carleton University where he helped the Ravens capture their 7th straight National Championship. The 25 year-old Sarnia native averaged 12.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in his 5 seasons in the OUA. Rocca is known for his knock-down 3-point shooting - he shot 45% from beyond the arc in 2016-17, good enough for 3rd best in the OUA.


Clarke played 5 seasons in the Ontario College Athletics Association (OCAA) at George Brown College and Durham College, and is the OCAA’s all-time leading scorer. In 2016-17, Clarke averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds and shot 41% from three. He was honoured as the Male Athlete of the Year at Durham College in 2014 and 2015 and was given the award again at George Brown college in 2017.
