Dorian Pinson, 22 years-old, from Greenville, South Carolina has signed with the River Lions.

Pinson spent four years at Lincoln Memorial University, a school that competes in the NCAA Division II South Athletic Conference.

Among all his impressive physical tools (6’5”, 230 lbs), Pinson’s most impressive attribute was his year-to-year improvement.

In his rookie season at LMU, Pinson played in 33 games, starting 17. Through his rookie campaign he averaged 5.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG and 1.0 APG on 47% shooting from the field and 28% shooting from behind the three-point line in 17 minutes a night.

In his senior season, he played and started in 34 games, averaging 15.5 PPG, 9.4 RPG and 4.2 APG while shooting an unbelievable 59% from the field and 43% from deep to go with that. All that production made it hard for his coach to take him off the floor, and Pinson averaged 30 minutes per contest. 

Pinson’s unique blend of size and speed allow him to get to the rim at will, where his finishing skills helped him shoot nearly 60% from the floor. These talents helped him land a contract in the German Pro A League, signing with White Wings Hanau in August 2018.

In his only season in Germany, Pinson continued to impress. The Greenville native posted averages of 12.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.5 APG and 2.5 SPG while shooting 46% from the field and 38% from three. Pinson started in 29 of 30 games he played in and saw 30 minutes per game.

He also proved his three-point skill wasn’t an anomaly, taking four per game compared to only two in his senior year at Lincoln Memorial.
