St. Catharines, ON - The Niagara River Lions announced today that youth groups and organizations can now apply to be part of the Niagara Trailers High 5 Tunnel at nine of their 2024 home games. This initiative will allow between 10 to 20 children to stand on the court and High 5 River Lions players as they take to the floor for pre-game warm-ups. Participants will then get to stay to watch the game in the Niagara Trailers row.
Groups are encouraged to apply for the free opportunity via an online form starting today after which (9) will be randomly selected.
“Here at Niagara Trailers we take pride in community involvement,” said the Petrie family, owners of the locally and family owned business which was established in 1972. “We are so excited to be involved with the River Lions again this year, as ourselves, our family and staff always enjoy the opportunity to attend a game for a great night out. The games are always an unforgettable experience, not to mention an opportunity to see some amazing players and potential NBA prospects.”
The River Lions and Niagara Trailers understand the importance of community and the way that sport brings people together.
“The Niagara River Lions extend our heartfelt gratitude to Niagara Trailers for their unwavering support,” said Matthew Johnston, Vice President of Business Development for the team. “By sending over 300 children to a basketball game in the last 3 seasons, they've provided more than just a ticket; and allowed these lucky fans the chance to stand on the court with the players and give High 5's as they come out to start the game. Niagara Trailers commitment to fostering unique opportunities speaks volumes, and we're privileged to have them as a cornerstone for the 2024 season.”
