Anderson, a 6’4” shooting guard, has played almost a decade of pro basketball, most notably when he won three NBL championships.
Anderson expressed his excitement excitement when he agreed to spend the first CEBL season in Niagara.
“I’m really grateful to be apart of the River Lions organization and have chance to play in front of the best fans in Canada,” the 30-year-old said Friday. “I can’t wait to get started so we can bring the River Lions organization their first championship.”
Anderson, a Seattle Native, played high school ball at Rainier Beach High School, winning a state title in his freshman year.
In his years following Rainier High, Anderson played all four college seasons at the University of Nebraska. In his time at Nebraska, Anderson jumped into Top-10 all-time for total three-pointers made, three-point percentage, steals, games played, and games started in school history.
After short stints in the Dutch Basketball League, the NBA D-League and the Professional Basketball Association, Anderson signed on with the now-defunct Ottawa SkyHawks in the NBL Canada. Anderson has been in Canada ever since, racking up an impressive resume.
This past season with the Windsor Express, Anderson posted averages of 16.9 PPG, 7.3 RPG and 3.6 APG on 40% shooting from the field and 36% from behind the three-point line. Anderson hit 136 total threes last season, good for third in the NBL. He played in 38 games.
In 2019 Anderson reached 2nd in total points scored in NBL history.
Anderson won a championship in 2015 with the Windsor Express, and then won back-to-back in 2017 and 2018 with the London Lightning.
Anderson’s best season to date was in2016-17, where he was named First-team All NBL Canada, set a record form most three-pointers hit in a single game (13), and capped off the championship-winning season with being named Finals MVP.
