St. Catharines, Ontario
– Local franchisees (Aaron Mendonca, Mike & Kate Bzowski) of
Code Ninjas St. Catharines
have partnered with the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) as presenting partner for Dunkin’s Kids Club which was launched in the spring of 2020. The Code Ninjas team will be onsite for all River Lions home games in 2021, where fans will be able to get a firsthand experience coding and building their own video games. Outside of game days, members of the Code Ninjas Kids Club will receive monthly newsletters, a welcome certificate, yearly birthday card and more.
“I’ve taken my kids to countless River Lions games and The Cub Zone is always a huge highlight! The atmosphere they create at every single game is infectious. It’s this ‘kids-first’ attitude and dedication to FUN that has us so excited to partner with this amazing team. We can’t wait to introduce these little River Lions fans to the world of coding, robotics, and programming through video games; the Code Ninjas way,” said Aaron Mendonça, Owner & Centre Director.
Regarding Code Ninjas, the River Lions Vice President of Business Development Matthew Johnston said, “The Code Ninjas team of Aaron, Mike, and Kate are extremely thoughtful when it comes to the Niagara Community. It was clear from our first interaction that the focus of Code Ninjas was to make a positive impact with all the youth of the Niagara region and display just how much fun it can be to create your own video games. We are excited to be pairing entertainment and learning in a positive way.”
The Niagara River Lions are one of the original six teams of the CEBL. Playing out of Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines, the River Lions represent the twelve municipalities of the Niagara Region while living up to the River Lions moniker of pride and strength of community. Visit
